The latest version offers following new features
DSN Manager: The DSN Manager enables the user to create a system DSN on the server. The database must be uploaded to /DB folder under FTP root for each web site before attempting to create the DSN. For each Web Administrator, the DSN Manager only displays those system DSN which are created for the web sites under his control.
Services Manager: This option is only available to members of hosting administrator group. It displays all the services installed on the server, and allows to perform various operations on them. The Services Manager provides similar control over services as provided by services application in windows control panel.
Mail Manager: Hosting Controller now integrates number of mail servers to support mail access and administration. These include IMail, MailMax, Post.Office and VOPMail.
As soon as a web site is created, if selected, new mail domains are created automatically. In addition to this all other required entries like DNS MX records and mail administrative account is also created. The rest of the mail administration is done through each mail server's web based interface and is independent of the hosting controller.
Hosting Controller creates IPLess Mail domains in the respective mail servers, when the IPLess domain option is selected.
Quota System: Parallel to Transaction system , HC now offer quota management system which allows the administrators to assign quota limits to each sub administrators. i.e. the Hosting Administrators delegate quota to the Resellers and the Resellers delegate the quote to the web administrators. The interface displays the allocated quota, quota used and the quota left for each administrator.
Admin Settings: The hosting administrator can alter the interface and other settings for each sub admin using the Admin settings option.
Stats Server: In addition to Webtrends Statistics Server, Hosting Controller now supports Media House Statistics server and Webalizer Statistics server also. The Stats server interface allows you to add new sites from the hosting controller to the stats server. The interface also adds a default user as the manager of the stats site.
Serv-U FTP: Serv-U FTP server provides very nice quota management capabilities not present in the MS FTP server. Hosting Controller provides interface to add new FTP sites and users to the Serv-U FTP server.
Import Sites and Users: A much needed feature of importing new sites and users from the IIS and Operating System is know supported by the Hosting Controller. Existing Serv-U sites can also be imported by HC if Serv-U is enabled.
Remote Administration: HC Version 1.3 allows you to keep your Mail and DNS server on remote system, HC DCom server can then create the mail and dns server entries on the remote system.
SQL Administration: You can now create and delete database in local and remote SQL Server using HC, the system creates a default login for each web site with the same name as the database. On local system it also allows to backup and restore the database.
Online Transaction: HC supports two payment modes , Cybercash and Link Point , to allow the resellers and web admins to buy new hosting modules from their respective admins, using the hosting controller interface and performing online purchase.
SSL Virtual Directory: Reseller can create a virtual directory for each web admin , on a pre-assigned SSL enabled web server.
Auto Signup: HC provides Auto Signup option, which enables potential customers to become Resellers or Web Admins without intervention of Host Administrator, by performing online transaction.
