What problem are you having?

Error in directory creation for the User

Cause: This error occurs if HC is unable to create root directory for a new user.

Solution: Host should check if his root path is valid or not in the registry.

 

Error importing domain

Cause: This error occurs when the HC is not able to obtain the existing settings for the domain being imported to alter its root path to the new location

Solution: To overcome this problem, host should check the settings of the imported domain in IIS and then try again.

 

Error in directory creation for the User

Cause:This error occurs if HC is unable to create root directory for a new user.

Solution: Host should check if his root path is valid or not in the registry.

 

User already exists

Cause: This error occurs if user already exists in operating system accounts or in HC database in AdminList table.

Solution: If the account already exists in operating system then either delete the user account from operating system or choose another user name.

 

Invalid Parameter

Cause: It occurs if HC is unable to create user account due to invalid chars in the user name.

Solution: Try again with valid user name.

 

Access denied

Cause: This error causes if the anonymous user for virtual directory (AdvAdmin) for HC is not a member of administrator group.

Solution: Host must change the anonymous user from IUSER_Machine to the AdvWebAdmin user for the HC virtual directory.

 

Password too short

Cause: It occurs if password for user is too short. Password must be greater than 5 characters.

Solution: Enter the password greater than 5 characters.

 

Invalid Computer

Cause: It occurs if AdvAdmin.dll is not properly registered on the system.

Solution: Host must re-register the AdvAdmin.dll present in dll folder of HC installation directory. Command for registering a dll is regsvr32 DllName.dll

 

Not Primary

Cause: It occurs when the server on which HC is installed is not a stand alone or domain controller but instead it is a backup domain controller.

Solution: HC should not be installed on a backup domain controller.

 

Unable to add user to group

Cause: It occurs if HC is unable to add new user to the Users group.

Solution: Host should check if the Users Group exists on the system.

 

User not found

Cause: It occurs if HC is unable to locate selected user on the operating system.

 

User could not be deleted try again

Cause: It occurs if HC is unable to delete user from the operating system or HC database.

Solution: Host should confirm the following two settings

  • change the anonymous user for HC virtual folder AdvAdmin from IUSER_Machine to the AdvWebAdmin.

  • check the DSN for HC database. The DSN name is HCDatabase by default and it points to AdvWebdmin.mdb file in \databas folder of HC installation directory. This DSN name should be provided in HC settings.

 

FTP folders could not be deleted Access Violation

Cause: It occurs if

  • The folder has some access restrictions. Possibility is that some one is logged in through FTP access.

  • There might be a COM object located in the root that is registered on the system and is being used by some application.

 

Error in editing account

Cause: It occurs if HC is unable to update user’s account properties.

Solution: Host should confirm the following two settings

  • change the anonymous user for HC virtual folder AdvAdmin from IUSER_Machine to the AdvWebAdmin.

  • Register the dll AdvAdmin.dll present in dll folder of HC installation directory. Command for registering a dll is regsvr32 DLLName.dll.

 

Unable to change password

Cause: It can be due to some operating system problem, or the original password supplied to alter may be incorrect

Solution: Register the dll AdvAdmin.dll present in dll folder of HC installation directory. Command for registering a dll is regsvr32 DLLName.dll.
