Hosting Control service manager is responsible for running services related to HC. HC service manager should always be running if you have a distributed network, i.e. if you are hosting DNS, Mail or SQL on secondary machine, then you have to run service manager on both primary and secondary machines.
To start service manager:
In Start menu Programs folder, go to NT Web Hosting Controller and click Service Manager.
Click Start button to start service manager. Click Hide to place service manager in task bar.
