Configuring HC with SQL Server

The SQL server manager interface allows you to create, back and restore SQL databases.

TO configure HC with SQL server:

  2.  In Settings dialog, click on SQL Server tab and Enable the SQL server.

  3. In the SQL Administrator Name box , provide the system administrator user name for the SQL server, which has administrative rights on the system.

  4. In the SQL Administrator Password box, provide the Password for the system administrator specified in the step 3.

  5. In SQL Server Name box ,enter the name of the SQL server on your network on which you want to allow your HC users to create their databases. To use a SQL server on the same machine, use the reserve word local to specify the SQL server on the same box.

  6. Check UNC Enable check box, if you want to enable back up and restore operations for remote SQL server.

  7. In the UNC Name box provide the UNC name if it has been enabled in the above step. It is a share name for the back up folder on the remote SQL server , it is required so that HC can copy the backup files to and from the SQL server in case of a backup and restore. You may also need to adjust the access permissions so that HC has rights over the share created.

  8. Click OK to apply new setting.
